Carolyn E Wright is an Atlanta attorney who is also an excellent photographer.  She specializes in law that affects photographers such as copyright issues, photographer's rights, that sort of thing. We were fortunate to hear her speak at the recent CNPA annual meeting.  Wow, are many of us operating under false ideas when it comes to our rights in these areas!  Check out her Blog for many helpful tips.  She also is publishing a book, 88 Secrets to the Law for Photographers that, like her blog, will provide important information to help photographers protect themselves and their work. Check out her blog for references to two other related books that she recommends that each of us have in our libraries.

I think I learned about this one from Clark Howard's daily emails.

A new consumer Web site helps travelers avoid "flying blind" with tools for each phase of travel.  FlightStats helps travelers buy smarter with performance ratings unlike any others.  For starters, the site lets you clearly see before you buy tickets which flights are habitually late (one star rated) and what flight might cost $10 more but with a five
star rating.  Also, the site offers a flight alert system for any flight with messages sent to a desktop, PDA, or a cell phone.  Other useful day-of-travel features are the TSA security wait time estimates for your airport, terminal, gate and time of day, global flight status lookup by flight route or airport, weather conditions and forecasts.

 

 Other Ways to Redeem those Frequent Flier Miles

You may have had problems redeeming those Frequent Flier Miles on the flights you want.  There are a few alternatives being offered by the airlines

- Through the end of the year, United Airlines offers its Mileage Plus
members the chance to redeem miles/points on merchandise. Check out

- Delta SkyMiles members with 75,000 or more miles can redeem them for
items from the Medallion Marketplace, a collection of 300 travel and
other rewards such as electronics, home and garden items, outdoor

- Shop the More Store, Frontier Airline's online catalog of
miles-for-merchandise with items from jewelry to golf or restaurant
outings.  Redemption is available only to elite members of Frontier's

- Continental Airlines offers OnePass members the chance to purchase a variety
of merchandise from quality brand names at up to 50 percent off retail
prices.  The site lets members shop and buy merchandise using a
combination of miles and money.
