Australia Extension

Where do you begin when you attempt to visit Australia in one week?  Our extension will focus on just two areas so that we will have time to explore them in a way they deserve to be explored. We will begin our extension in Melbourne. There we will explore the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Ranges National Parks where we will look for Koala, giant monitor lizards and other wildlife.  We will then fly to Tasmania where we will spend the remainder of our time in Australia.  Locations there will include a variety of National Parks with fascinating wildlife and dramatic natural features. Our extension will provide a very different, but equally exciting, experience from our time in New Zealand.

South Island of New Zealand

What an incredible country! Nowhere in the world can one find such a land as New Zealand for sheer beauty and scale. It is a treasure trove of natural wonders, and the South Island has some of the most dramatic scenery in the world: towering peaks, glaciers, majestic fiords, and pristine lakes. Here is where we will concentrate our time, discovering and capturing it all on film. James Michener wrote that “New Zealand is probably the most beautiful place on earth”. Some of the locations we will visit will include Christchurch, New Zealand’s garden city,  Pancake Rocks, Fox Glacier, Queenstown, a working sheep station, Nugget Point, Dunedin and of course magnificent Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park. Our trip has been timed to coincide with the early fall.

Throughout our time in Australia and New Zealand we will be accompanied by excellent, knowledgeable local guides who know intimately the different locations that we will visit. The focus of our trip is photography, but this is much more than a photographic tour.
