Costa Rica

Tuesday, February 25 thruThursday, March 5. 2011

(Offered in conjunction with Strabo Tours)

Costa Rica is a natural treasure with an incredibly rich and diverse array of plant and animal life. It has long been a biological land bridge between the Americas with more than a dozen life zones within its borders. Guided by our Costa Rican Naturalist we will visit a wide variety of locations. We will begin our journey in the INBio Park a wonderful introduction to the flora and fauna of this diverse country. We will continue to Arenal, the most active volcano in the country. After traveling by boat across Arenal Lake we  will make our way to Monteverde with its famous cloud forest and 6 different life zones. Our last destination will be new for us: the Quepos area including Manuel Antonio National Park. Here we will hope to find wildlife and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. There will be many other photogenic opportunities along the way including many hummingbirds and migratory birds that make their winter home in Costa Rica.

Fee: $3895 includes double occupancy lodging, admission fees, boat ride, van transportation during the workshop, most meals and hands-on instruction.  Maximum of 12 participants.
