 Individual Instruction

Designed for the photographer who wants more intensive instruction or who wants help in a specific area of photography. Individual lessons are a great way to jump start your enjoyment of photography when you want to learn more about your camera controls. We offer individual instruction in any area of nature photography, nature video, personal critiques, portfolio reviews, basics of Photoshop Elements and Lightroom, and digital or traditional camera and camcorder operation. Our fee is $45 per hour or $125 for a 3 hour lesson. Group lessons can be arranged for the base fee plus $20 per hour ($55 for 3 hours) for each additional individual in the group up to a maximum of 4 people.

 Customized Workshops and Photo Tours

Choose among workshops that are a half to a full day of intensive instruction, day-long combinations of lecture and time in the field, or weekend workshops. We can conduct the workshop in Chattanooga or in your choice of location. For our local workshops we can even provide home-cooked snacks and organize catered meals. We can also coordinate a longer field trip for your small group to one of our regular workshop destinations across the U.S or other locations with which we are familiar. With these workshops you can help tailor the content to suit your interests. We can modify our field trip format to accommodate those interested in combining photography and day hikes to more remote locations. See two samples of a past workshop that we designed for a group.  Sample 2. Since we charge a flat fee it would be up to you to decide what to charge your participants.

Fees: We charge $950 plus expenses for a one day workshop, $1050 plus expenses for an evening plus a daylong workshop, and $1750 plus expenses for a weekend workshop for up to 25 participants. Ask for a quote for our longer field trips since prices will vary depending on location, number of attendees, and options selected.

New in 2013

We will be offering several 2-3 hour workshops consisting of mini-lectures followed by hands-on photography held at our home on Signal Mountain and other locations. These workshops will be limited to a very small group to allow plenty of one-on-one instruction, making them appropriate for photographers of all levels of experience. Possible subjects include close-up/macro, wildlife, travel, and people photography as well as other topics. We will be adding details about these workshops to our website in the next month or so.
